EAST MARIETTA BASKETBALL 2020-2021 FAQ’s
FOR 10U Boys & 12U Boys
Welcome to the 52nd season of EMBL!!! We are proud to be the largest and most successful Rec basketball league in all of Georgia!!
As a reminder….we have 2 levels of play in each age group…D1 and D2. D1 is 6 teams of 8 and is comprised of the top 48 players in the group as evaluated by the coaches. They are generally the bigger, stronger, and faster 5th and 7th graders respectively. D2 is every bit as competitive. Every effort will be made to insure each boy is properly placed and that the teams are as even as can be. We strive for total parity so as to insure a positive experience for every boy.
Here are some important dates for you to process:
- 10-B2 Draft is SUN 10/11 You will be notified SUN night or MON morning. Practice starts that that week. GAMES on SATURDAYS. Practice will generally be Mon thru FRI night
- 10-B1 Draft is THURS 10/7 You will be notified Fri 10/8. Teams will practice during the weeknights…Games on Sunday. Practice starts this weekend
- 12-B2 Draft is SUN 10/11 You will be notified SUN night or MON morning . Teams will practice weeknights…Games on Saturday. Practice starts this weekend
- 12-B1 Draft is THURS 10/7 You will be notified Fri 10/8. Teams will practice Saturdays or weeknights…Games on Sundays. Practices start this weekend
Each team will play 7 regular season games, weather permitting. There will be a Single Elimination Post Season tournament starting 12/9.
ONLY ONE PARENT PER PLAYERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO ATTEND GAMES DUE TO COVID AND COVID PROTCOLS WILL BE FOLLOWED. ALL GAMES WE BE ON YOUTUBE FOR ALL TO SEE
Please note that in order to get 9 games for all teams, we will play games the weekend prior to Thanksgiving break (11/17 & 18) and Christmas break (12/15 & 16). Please plan your travels accordingly.

If you missed evaluations, a refund will be processed within the next 2 weeks less $3 for a handling fee.
ANY REFUND REQUEST MUST BE REQUESTED TO YOUR COMMISSIONER BY 10/6.
We are currently determining the wait list and will determine your son’s status by Friday 10/6.
